EFFECT OF THOUGHT ON CIRCUMSTANCES
a man's mind is compared to a garden, which may be intelligently cultivated or be abandoned and filled with herbs, but is cultivated or neglected, is intended to produce. If no useful seeds are sown, weed seeds then fall, grow and reproduce abundantly.
As a gardener cultivates his plot, keeping it free of weeds, cultivating flowers and fruits that required, and must also man tend the garden of his mind clean of harmful thoughts, useless and impure thoughts, and cultivating toward perfection the flowers and fruits of right thinking, useful and pure. Only in this process man sooner or later discovers that he is the master gardener of his spirit, director of his life. He also discovers in himself, the laws of thought, and understands, with ever greater precision, how the power of thought and mind elements operate in shaping his character, circumstances and fate.
Thought and character are one, and while the character only manifest and discover through the circumstances, the environment of a person's life will always be in harmony with their inner state. This does not mean that a person's circumstances at any given time are an indicator of his whole character, but that those circumstances are closely connected with some vital thought element within himself that, at that time, it is essential for their development.
Every man is where he is by the law of his being. The thoughts that has built into his character have brought him there, and the arrangement of his life there is no element of chance, but the result of a law that can not fail. This is true both for those who are unhappy with their environment and those who are satisfied with it.
As a progressive and evolving being, man is at a point where you must learn to be grow, and as he learns the spiritual lesson which any circumstance for him, it ends and leads to other circumstances.
Man is buffeted by circumstances as he thinks himself as a being created by external conditions, but when he realizes that he is a creative power, and can manage land and seeds of his being which circumstances grow, he becomes lord and master of himself.
The man who for some time has practiced self-control and self-purification knows that the circumstances grow out of thought, because he noticed that the alteration in his circumstances has been in exact ratio with impaired his mental state. Thus, it is true that when a man earnestly applies himself to remedy the defects of his character, and makes swift and marked progress passes quickly through a succession of sudden changes.
The soul attracts that which it secretly harbors; what he loves, and what he fears and reaching the peak of their most cherished aspirations, it falls to the level of its most impure desires, and circumstances are the means by which the soul receives what is yours.
Every thought seed sown dropped into the mind, and take root, it reproduces itself, eventually blossoming into action, producing its own fruit of chance and circumstances. Good thoughts bear good fruit, bad thoughts bad fruit.
The environment of the circumstances takes shape in the inner world of thoughts, and all external conditions, pleasant and unpleasant, are factors that ultimately exist for the good of the individual, man learns both suffering and bliss.
Following the inmost desires, aspirations, thoughts, which is allowed to dominate (pursuing the will-o'of impure imagination, or walking with a firm the way of high aspirations), the man finally receives full fruits of these in the conditions of his life.
The laws of growth and adaptation are met throughout place.
A man arrives at a nursing home or jail by the tyranny of fate or circumstance, but by the pathway of groveling thoughts and low desires. Do not drop a pure-minded man suddenly into crime by stress of any mere external force; criminal thought had long been secretly fostered in the heart, and the hour of opportunity revealed its gathered power.
The circumstances do not make the man reveal himself. Even at birth the soul is revealed, and at each step of his pilgrimage it attracts those combinations of conditions that reveal which are the reflection of their own purity and impurity, its strength and weakness.
Men do not attract what they want, but what are . Their whims, fancies, and ambitions are thwarted at every turn, but their inmost thoughts and desires are fed themselves, be it foul or clean. The "divinity that shapes us" is within ourselves is ourselves. Man is manacled only by himself. Thought and action are the jailers of Fate - they imprison, being base; they are also the angels of Freedom - they liberate, being noble.
man does not get what he wants and what he prays, but what he justly earns. His wishes and prayers are only gratified and responded when they harmonize with his thoughts and actions.
In light of this truth, what then is the meaning of "Fighting against the odds?" Means that man is continually revealing the tip effect without, while all the time he is nourishing and preserving cause in his heart.
This case may take the form of a conscious vice or an unconscious weakness, but whatever, it stubbornly retards the efforts of its possessor, and thus calls aloud for remedy.
The man is anxious to improve their circumstances but are unwilling to improve themselves, hence remains attached. The man who does not shrink before his own crucifixion can never fail to achieve the objective outlined in its heart, this is as true of earthly as of heavenly things. Even the man whose sole aim is to achieve prosperity must be prepared to make great personal sacrifices before he can achieve his goal, and how much more prepared that you want to achieve a prosperous and balanced life?.
This is a man miserable and poor. Is extremely anxious hope that the comfort of your home environment and improve, yet all the time is stingy in his work, and it is justified in trying to deceive his employer based on how miserable of his salary. This man does not understand the simple rudiments of the principles are the foundation of prosperity, not only is unable to rise above their poverty, but also attracts even more misery to the house and act on their thoughts lazy, false and cowardly.
This is a rich man who is the victim of a painful and persistent disease a result of gluttony. Is willing to spend huge sums of money to heal, but not willing to sacrifice their gluttony. Want to satisfy your taste with unhealthy foods and enjoy both good health. Such a man is totally unable to enjoy good health because he has not learned the basic principles of healthy living.
This is an employer who adopts crooked measures to avoid paying statutory salaries, and in the desire to improve their income, reduce the salaries of employees. Such a man is not ready for prosperity, and when your finances and your reputation are in bankruptcy, blamed the circumstances, not even knowing who is himself the author of his condition.
I presented these three cases only to illustrate the truth that man is the cause (though usually without being aware) of their circumstances, and, while running for a good purpose, continually frustrating its mission to stimulate thoughts and desires that are not consistent with that purpose. Such cases can be modified and multiplied almost indefinitely, but it is not necessary, because the reader may, if so resolves, trace the effect of the laws of thought in his own mind and in your own life, and until I do that, mere facts External not serve as the basis for his reasoning.
The circumstances, however, are so complicated, thought is so deeply rooted, and the conditions of happiness vary so much between individuals, the condition of the soul of man as a whole (Although he's known) can not be judged otherwise than by the external aspect of his life.
A man may be honest in certain directions, yet suffer privations; a man can be dishonest in certain directions, yet acquire wealth, but the usual conclusion that the former fails because of their particular honesty, and the second is thriving thanks to its particular dishonesty is the result of a superficial view, which assumes that the dishonest man is almost totally corrupt, and honest is almost entirely virtuous. In the light of a greater depth of knowledge and experience, such trial will be wrong. The dishonest must have some admirable virtues which the other does not possess, and the honest harmful vices which are absent in the other. The honest man reaps the good results of his honest thoughts and acts, also attracts the suffering that their habit causes; The dishonest just as harvest their own suffering and such.
human vanity is pleased to believe that one suffers because of his virtue, but until the man has extirpated every sickly thought, bitter and impure of mind, and every stain cleansed of his sin soul not be in a position to know and say that their suffering are a result of its good, and not their bad qualities, and in the way of perfection, you've found working in his mind and his life, the Great Law which is absolutely fair, and that does not give good for evil, no evil for good. In possession of such knowledge, understand, looking back on his past ignorance and blindness, that his life is, and always did, with justice, and that all his past experiences, good and bad were the result of their being impartial in the process of evolution.
Good thoughts and actions can never produce bad results, bad thoughts and actions can never produce good results. This is nothing but saying that not only wheat harvested wheat, nothing from nettles but nettles. The man understands this in the natural world, and work with it, but few understand the mental and moral world (though this operation is so simple and direct), and therefore do not cooperate with that law.
Suffering is always the effect of wrong thought in some direction. Is an indication that the individual is out of harmony with himself, with the law of his being. The sole and supreme use of suffering is to purify, to burn all that is useless and impure. The Suffering ceases for him who is pure. No sense in burning gold after the dross had been removed, and a perfectly pure and enlightened being could not suffer.
The circumstances under which a man encounters with suffering are the result of his own mental disharmony, the circumstances in which man encounters with blessedness are the result of his own mental harmony. Buenaventura, not material possessions, is the measure of right thought, the wretchedness, not lack of material possessions, is the measure of wrong thought. A man may be cursed and rich; can be blessed and poor. Blessedness and riches are only joined together when the riches are rightly and wisely, and the poor man only descends into wretchedness when he regards his lot as a burden unjustly inflicted.
Homelessness and indulgence are the two extremes of wretchedness. They are both equally unnatural and the result of a mental disorder. A man is not well adapted to that is a happy, healthy and prosperous, and happiness, health and prosperity are the result of harmony between your inner and outer world, between man and his environment.
A man only begins to be a man when he ceases to whine and curse, and start searching for the hidden justice which regulates his life. And bring your mind to that regulating factor, he ceases to accuse others as the cause of their situation, and wrought himself with strong and noble thoughts; ceases to kick against circumstances, and begins to use to help more rapid progress, and as a means of discovering the hidden powers and possibilities within himself.
Law, not confusion, is the dominant principle of the universe, justice, not injustice, is the spirit and substance of life, righteousness, not corruption, is the molding and moving force that governs spirit the world. This being so, man has no choice but to find that the universe is working properly, and the ground, will find that as he alters his thoughts towards things and people, situations and people will alter towards him.
The proof of this truth is in every person, and therefore can easily be verified by introspection and self-analysis. Let a man radically alter his thoughts, and was astonished at the rapid transformation it will effect in the material conditions of life.
The man imagines he can keep his thoughts secret, but can not; rapidly crystallizes into habit, and habit solidifies into circumstances. Bestial thoughts crystallize into habits of indulgence about drinking and sex, taking the form of destitution and disease impure thoughts of every kind crystallize into enervating and confusing habits, which solidify into distracting and adverse circumstances, thoughts fear, doubt and indecision crystallize into habits of weakness, lack of manliness and irresolution, which solidify into circumstances of failure, poverty, and dependence; thoughts crystallize into habits of laziness of uncleanliness and dishonesty, which solidify into circumstances of foulness and beggary, thoughts of hatred and condemnation crystallize into habits of accusation and violence, which solidify into circumstances of injury and persecution narcissistic thoughts of all kinds crystallize into habits selfish which solidify into circumstances more or less distress.
On the other hand, thoughts of all kinds crystallize into habits of grace and kindliness, which solidify into genial and sunny circumstances, pure thoughts crystallize into habits of temperance and self-control , which solidify into circumstances of peace and tranquility; Thoughts of courage, self-reliance and decision crystallize into habits of valor, which solidify into circumstances of success, fulfillment and freedom energetic thoughts crystallize into habits of cleanliness and industry, which solidify into circumstances of leisure, and noble thoughts charity into habits of generosity, which solidify into circumstances of protection and preservation, thoughts of love and generosity crystallize into habits of generosity, which solidify into circumstances of abiding prosperity and true riches.
Persistence in a given sequence of thoughts, whether good or bad, not fail to produce results on the character and circumstances. A man can not directly choose their circumstances, but can choose his thoughts, and so indirectly, but surely, shape his circumstances.
Nature is responsible for assisting all people in the gratification of the thoughts that dominate them, and presents the opportunities realized the fastest way to both constructive and destructive thoughts.
thinking Cease sinful man and the world will soften for him, and is ready to help, leave aside their weak and sickly thoughts, and oh! opportunities will emerge in each hand to assist you in your decisions, encourage good thoughts, and there is no fate that bind him to misery and shame. The world is your kaleidoscope, and the variety and combination of colors that every moment presents you are the exquisitely adjusted pictures of your thoughts always in motion.
